    A Fond Farewell...

And so with a sadness in my heart I say goodby to summer... see you next year. Autumn is upon us as is the wind and the rain but at least we've still got the Blues. Next year feels like it could be a big one in my musical journey with a new album in the pipe line (the studio and producer is already in place) as well as festivals and more gigs being booked in. But that's all for another time, now is all about looking at what went down in September and what October has in store

New single 'Never Had a Heart' out now

I'm proud and excited to be finally sharing some new music with you guys! The single 'Never Had a Heart' is out now on Spotify, Apple Music and all other major platforms. You can Download or stream it here. It feels like a long journey to get to this point and yet somehow time seems to be racing away at the moment. But whenever I listen to the song it takes me back to when I wrote it all those months ago and I hope it has the same effect when you listen to it. I think it's on

    Americana and Snow drifts

January was by far a better month than December and it felt good to put all the illness that went with it behind me. Finally finishing the recording stage of the album was a great relief for me and it was good to be moving on to the mixing part of the process. As the album was being mixed and mastered in Oslo this gave me a chance to jump on a plane to Norway to over see everything. Nick Terry was on mixing duties and it was a nice break from London, and a chance to kick back

    Disaster in December

To be totally honest with you I'm glad to see the back of 2018, the year ended in bit of a disaster really... to say things didn't go according to plan is a bit of an understatement. To begin with things seemed to be going well enough, I had a last practice with my band before recording began, which seemed to go well, and then we went off into the night to have a beer or two, and from that point on wards things seemed to go slightly pear shaped. The next day I was due to have

    Big news on the horizon

So the big new first... I am happy to announce that I have finally confirmed the dates for recording my new album 'The Devil Beside Me'. On the 7th of December god willing I will be getting together with my new band in 'The Blues Studios' in Dalston, London to record what will be my third studio album. I am very happy to be working again with Nick Terry (Libertines, Ian Brown, Klaxtons) who will mix and master the album in Norway. But I am also very excited to welcome Marc Wa

    Autumn Makes an Appearance

Well that's the summer over then... but fear not there are lots of exciting things around the corner, at least on the music front that's for sure. September has been a productive month but yet somehow I seem to have very little to report... I've pretty much been locked away in the studio rehearsing with my new band and budgeting for the new album, studio costs, mixing and casting fees, that kind of thing. Also working in my home studio on some new songs and demoing martial

September Blog - Back in Britain

And so I return to London. I survived my month tour of Europe (just) and have come back home with a new perspective on the direction of my music, and ultimately my life style. But if that sounds like I've been though an ordeal, worry not, the tour had it's usual ups and downs that you'd expect with any amount of traveling. It went right and wrong in equal measures and when faced with challenges I was able to find a solution, and a new out look has been the result. Next year I

    Great Escapes, and great beginnings...

Looking back quite a lot seemed to go down since my last blog post. A trip to Brighton for the Great Escape, finally getting a band together and now a European tour on the horizon. But first what happened in Brighton... For those who don't know 'The Great Escape' is a three day music festival and conference that takes place in Brighton, and what a experience it turned out to be. Hunter S. Thompson famously said: "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long

    Summer European Tour Announced

Summer seams just around the corner, even if the weather in London has been terrible of late (how very British of me to bring up the weather) But summer is always an exciting time of the year for me, not only because the of sun being out and the positive effect is has on people, but because summer for me means time to take my music on the road. Because of the success of last years European tour and the fan-base I'm starting to establish there, it's with fond memories I've d

    A New Perspective?

January might just go down as one of my most productive months and there's no denying it's due largely to giving up the drink and doing dry January. And if February is going to stand a chance of being anywhere near as productive then it will be more of the same... with drinking saved for Holidays and 'weekends off'. And if anything surely this is what a new year is all about. Looking at things from a different angle or perspective and taking a new approach. Because as the fam

    New Year, New Goals...

Well that was over quickly wasn't it? From were I sit now looking out th e window at a cold, wet, January's day, 2017 and all it's ups and downs seems like a distant memory. But looking back I think it was a pretty awesome year really. I recorded an album 'City of Streets', for the first time in a state of the art studio in Oslo, Norway. I released it independently. I took the album on tour for two months around Europe. I had it reviewed, I even had songs from the album play

    Tis The Season...

Tis the season... And so December is upon us but unfortunately so is the cold. The end of the year is fast approaching and Christmas is just around the corner. November flew by in the blink of an eye and December looks to be going the same way. The two gigs that I played last month, one at Leadbelly's in Canada Water, and at Luna Lounge in Leytonstone, both went by without too much of a hitch, and were a good chance to put my new 'one man band' set up through it's paces. I st

    The Beginning of Something Big

October has been a month of gigs, meetings, and rehearsing for me. In other words pretty busy in a funny sort of way. And a month that seems to have lasted for ever, but productive never the less. It all kicked off with a last minute gig at Folking Around. This monthly Folk night has built up a quite a reputation for putting on great live acts in kingston upon Thames, and it's always a pleasure to be invited to play there. Woody's bar who host the night are always very welcom

    Lisbon, lost cameras, and resolutions.

And so September passes in the blink of an eye, and with it passes the last of the summer. It seems like a life time ago that I was touring Europe just two months ago, but it's only fitting that I bid fare well to summer by returning to the last stop on the tour, the beautiful city of Lisbon. There seems to be a lot of hype around at the moment about the Portuguese capital and it's not hard to see why. The weather is stunning pretty much all year round and there is an abundan

    London Blues...

And so I return to London... As soon as I stepped off the plane from Lisbon I was greeted with a heavy downpour, the typical British summer. But things aren't all that bad. The sun has now returned to London and although it's not quite as hot as Portugal I return with a new resolve for the challenges ahead, and a few more contacts in the little black book. It's been a rewarding experience this tour, and I can't help but feel that I've stepped up to another level on my journey

Tails of Joy and Tails of Woe

So much has happened since my last blog post that I think it's gonna be hard to fit it all in, but here goes nothing… The first stop on my 'City of Streets' European tour was Copenhagen. I've never been to this city before so I was unsure about what to expect, but I did know it was expensive. And I wasn’t wrong! It's taken me a little while to curve my spending and to adjust from 'holiday' mode to 'tour' mode. In this regards perhaps Copenhagen wasn't such a great place to st

    The wait is over

I'm proud to announce that my new album 'City of Streets' is finally released! Whenever you embark on such a massive project like recording an album, the reality of actually seeing it complete and holding the physical finished article in your hands can seem like a very abstract concept indeed, especially when wrapped up in the throes of recording, but that moment is finally here. Listening back to the recording now, at home in London seemingly a million years ago from when I

    Back To Reality

And so I return to London... the album 'City of Streets' is now finished and just waiting to be mastered. In a funny way I kind of miss Oslo... the cold days and boozy nights had a kind of romance to them, not to mention Norwegian girls... but it seems like months ago now, although it's only been a couple of weeks since I got back, I'm in an odd limbo where I'm waiting for the finished product so I can push the hell out of it. financially I can't really tell if it's been wort

The heaven and hell of recording

If somethings hard then it's usually worth doing, and this is especially true of the recording process. I can't say that it's been easy recording my new album 'City of Streets', it's been tough to say the least, but I can say that it has been rewarding if not a totally enjoyable experience. Although I'm only half way though the process, I've learnt so much that I already feel I'm better at my craft than I was when I began this journey. The recording in earnest is now finished

    New Year, New Goals...

2017 promises to be quite a year if things go according to plan, with some big things lined up for the future. The biggest, and most immediate, being the recording of a new album. It's something that I've been working on for a while my last album 'Broken Man', released in 2015, seems like an eon ago. And a lot has changed since those two weeks in April that I sat down in my home studio and recorded the 12 songs that made up the release. It seems amazing to look back now that
