Americana and Snow drifts

Updated: Feb 1, 2020

January was by far a better month than December and it felt good to put all the illness that went with it behind me. Finally finishing the recording stage of the album was a great relief for me and it was good to be moving on to the mixing part of the process. As the album was being mixed and mastered in Oslo this gave me a chance to jump on a plane to Norway to over see everything. Nick Terry was on mixing duties and it was a nice break from London, and a chance to kick back a bit and enjoy a beer or two (sadly missed over Christmas and New Years). To my relief the album was sounding great and it was worth braving the Norwegian winter (-8c at times) to come away with the finished single 'Never Had a Heart'. The track will be released on the 8th of March but is available to pre-order here.

And so to celebrate the release of my new song I will be taking to the stage with my new band downstairs at 'Roadtrip & The Workshop' in Hoxton, London, for a night of unforgettable music. I will also have support from my close friend Darren Campbell, so it will be a great chance to have a chat to everyone who helped make the record possible and celebrate with a drink or two.

Tickets are £6.00 in advance and come with a free download of the single 'Never Had a Heart' on it's release. On the door tickets are £8.00. This is an intimate venue, so tickets are likely to sell out fast. So make sure to get your tickets here

January also saw the annual AmericanaFest UK and conference and I was lucky enough to attend three days of talks on all things concerned with this fast growing genre. This included two nights of showcases and closing with an awards ceremony at the grand Hackney Empire. The after party wasn't too bad either!
