On the Road again

Updated: Feb 1, 2020

I write this, sat in a hostel in Copenhagen on the first day of my tour filled with anticipation for the journey ahead. The run up to the tour has been different than previous years, I must admit. I was so busy with promoting my new album (City of Streets) that I left booking the tour till quite late. In fact it seems only yesterday I was walking through the snowy streets of Oslo on my way to a mixing session. I've also had a lot of unsingersongwritery things going on, in the day's leading up to take off I had to move, which is always stressful, and redecorate my new abode, as it was in dire need of a lick of paint, as well as packing! All this four days before leaving the country for two months!

It's another mile stone for me today as it's also my birthday, so it does feel a bit odd to be sat on my own in Denmark at the beginning of my tour. That being said I do feel that this has the potential to be my most successful outing into Europe yet! I think the quality of my new album has led to some great bookings at venues and house concerts not to mention the odd interview and radio show!

May ended up as quite a quiet month on the music front, but it did give me time to get a bit of distance and prospective, which can be difficult when you get very close to a project. And although I don't think I've been exactly lazy I do think I could have done more with my online presence. It can be hard to grasp the concept of how social networking works but I've had a bit of a eureka moment, more on that coming soon, so we'll see how that pans out. But I did have a great gig as the Lamb in Surbiton, and I'm really looking forward to going back there again in September but this time with my band in toe.

And so I feel the streets of Copenhagen calling and I must go. Rest assured you can read all about my adventures in next months blog, this week there just happens to be a massive street party in the city which should be interesting! Not to mention Copenhagen hosting a fantastic night life. I'll be vlogging as I go so keep turned to my YouTube Channel for videos as I make them, until next time...
